`On behalf of the P&C, Welcome to Winston Hills Public School!
Who are the P&C?
The Winston
Hills Public School, Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) is
an active body of
parents and community within the school. The P&C is
operated on a voluntary
basis, with the core vision of providing funds and
services to students and
teachers. The school is fortunate enough to have
a passionate body of parents
within the school with almost 100%
contributing through volunteering their time
or providing funds.
What does the P&C do?
The P&C was established to provide 3 core functions within the school.
1 – To raise additional funds for the school;
2 – To provide additional services and activities to students;
3 – To give parents a forum to discuss and enhance their children’s education.
How do you raise additional funds?
Additional funds are raised through canteen, uniform shop and fundraising events such as Fete’s, ‘spellathons’ and ‘walkajogalongs’. The P&C raises around $25,000 each year all of which is invested directly back into the school.
Where do the funds go?
You might be surprised to see some of things the P&C has contributed to the school over the years, The following are just some of things P&C has contributed to, Playground equipment, Shade shelter, Sporting equipment, Math’s and literacy program material, Portable stage, Computers, Class aids, Dance costumes, Insurances……
What additional services do you provide? How is the P&C a forum?
The second major function of the P&C is to provide additional services to the school. The largest of these are Canteen, Uniform shop and School Band. All of which are run by parents and volunteers
The P&C is the forum to raise and discuss ideas for the school, everyone is welcome to come along, share ideas, have them discussed and implemented.
How is the P&C structured?
In the executive we have a President, 2 Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary and teacher representatives. We also have a range of subcommittees including:-
- Band, Canteen, Uniform Shop, Fundraising, Social Committee, Book Club, other committee’s may be formed as needed, for example a Fete Committee
